Writer, editor and reporter with eight years of experience in the pop culture, entertainment, food, travel and tech segments of publishing. As editor of TV Squad, I helped establish the voice and format of television criticism for web audiences that has been adapted by entertainment sites around the internet. During time as editor, site doubled in page views and uniques and successfully merged with a larger blog at AOL, keeping the TV Squad brand name. In writer/reporter role, I interviewed dozens of celebrities, producers and executives for profiles and Q&A articles.


Staff Writer / Editor, Mother Nature Network

2014- Present

  • Wrote articles for From The Grapevine, a website that examines cultural, technological, and culinary links to Israel. Articles were about various subjects, from arts and entertainment to technology to sports.
  • Performed post layout tasks, sourcing, sizing and cropping art as well as editing headlines and subheads in MNN’s homegrown CMS.
  • Performed copyediting tasks on freelancer-submitted articles. Worked with freelancers to shape articles and source art.

  • The New York Times – Write monthly restaurant reviews for Metropolitan section. Wrote an “Adoption Diary” for ten weeks to the Times’ Motherlode blog. Contributed to the paper’s Sunday Arts section, as well as New Jersey and Escapes sections.
  • Comcast – Contributed news posts, interviews and reviews to XfinityTV.com blog, read by millions of Comcast customers as well as the public. Also pitched in as a fill-in news editor for the site in 2011-12.
  • Erickson Tribune ­­– From 2007 to 2009, contributed approximately five articles per month to company’s nationally-distributed newsletter; tasks include reporting, photography, and sourcing art.
  • Also contributed essays, profiles, and interviews to Parade, Playboy.com, Indiewire, Fast Company Co.Create, The Daily Beast, Vulture, New York, New Jersey Monthly, DAME Magazine, Salon, TheAtlantic.com, and The Onion A.V. Club.

2005 – 2011

  • At TV Squad, held the positions of Assistant Editor, then Editor-in-Chief.
  • As editor of TV Squad, managed a team of 19 writers spread across the country. Successfully integrated a significant number of new writers along with inherited staff.
  • During my tenure as Editor-in-Chief, the site averaged 6.8 million page views and 1.8 million unique visitors per month. Starting with my period as assistant editor, the page views and unique visitors more than doubled.
  • Worked with budget set by AOL; stayed at or under budget every month, keeping up the high editorial standards set by my predecessors.
  • Set editorial direction, including picking shows to review and helping writers create and craft weekly columns. With assistant editor, copy-edited and scheduled posts on a 24×7 basis.
  • Played a major role in the merger of TV Squad with AOL’s Inside TV blog in 2010, including managing personnel, coordinating content like recaps, news, and interviews, and advising on editorial tone. After merger, became a senior writer/editor/critic for the newly-formed team.
  • Contributed 1-3 blog posts per day, including breaking news stories, reviews, recaps and interviews; also hosted and produced The TV Squad Podcast, a wide-open discussion of the current TV landscape that included interviews with celebrity guests.
  • Reported from events such as the network upfronts and the TCA press tour.
  • Interviewed dozens of celebrities, producers and executives for the site. Regularly interviewed showrunners like Carter Bays, Bill Lawrence, Dan Harmon, Mike Schur and others.

  • General system administration tasks performed for servers serving 2000 people at pharmaceutical research site in Bridgewater, NJ.
  • Worked on team that built out IBM’s first collocation site, in Newark, NJ.
