A new podcast is in town — Antenna Free TV!
Ok, a few weeks ago I referred to a big surprise that was coming. Of course, it wasn't on the level of a big spoiler or anything; all anyone had to do to find out what it was was to ask. But what I decided was that the old TV Squad podcasts I used to do were so much fun that I wanted to start them up on my own. So with the help of Jason Hughes, who was my usual co-host on those old Podcasts, we've started Antenna Free TV.
For now, the new site will only contain the podcast; any musings by me or anyone else about TV can be found there (of course, I still get paid to muse about TV, but it's just scattered a bit). The plan is for Jason and I to do the podcast weekly with someone from around the TV landscape, whether they're a fellow critic, someone who manages a fan site, or maybe even a few people who work on actual TV shows. One thing is, though, we're going to shoot the breeze and generally try to have fun while we record the thing.
The first official podcast is up; you can either listen to it here, download it via this link, subscribe to the RSS feed, or subscribe via iTunes.
Enjoy!
A New Look… And Some New Stuff Coming Soon
I decided to freshen things up a bit around here with a new theme, a new color scheme, and a social networking toolbar at the bottom of the screen (UPDATE 6/20/11: I decided to change that to social networking buttons, which you can find right under my smiling mug on the top right). More surprises coming, including new links to more recent published pieces and... well, I'll let you know about the big surprise when it happens. Stay tuned!
I’m tweeting. Does that make me sound crazy?
Folks, I've decided to join all the kids and make my Twitter feed a bit more active (I was going to say "interactive," but you need to be "active" first before adding the "inter" part. I'm at @joelkeller. TV Squad, by the way is at @tvsquad.
Oh, and by the way again, I was successfully able to get my name on Facebook, so if you go to http://www.facebook.com/joelkeller, you'll find me.

A new blog is a-comin’…
Folks, I know that I haven't updated this blog in a long time... in fact, my next dentists' appointment is coming up, and I know I haven't updated here since the last one. Anyway, I've been busy: got a battlefield promotion to Editor of TV Squad, and am looking into some other revenue streams (including voice over work), so an unpaid blog (especially with such a lax editor... heh) is pretty low on my priority list.
What does all this mean? That Brain Blurps is going to change: my thinking is that the entire JoelKeller.com site will become more blog-like, which will make it easier for me to update. Since I don't want to maintain two blogs that get no audience, I'll likely just merge this entire thing into one big blog. Look for it either late in December or early next year.
In the meantime, you can read my TV Squad interview with Eddie Izzard, where he talks about supporting Dennis Kucinich and a possible movie conclusion for The Riches.
Here’s why I don’t like going to the dentist…
Why is it that, after spending twenty minutes poking at your gums, shooting pain up and down your body, making you bleed, and making you wish you never got out of bed in the morning, the dental hygienist then decides it's a good idea to lecture you on how you need to brush and floss better?
For frick's sake, you'd think that the bleeding and the pain would send enough of a message...
Let’s play a game
Let's play a quick photo game:
How many things are wrong with this picture?
As far as I'm concerned, there's too many to count.

My “main gig” has a new look
We just rolled out a new look at TV Squad. Here it is. I like it. It's a whole lot less stodgy than our old site, and the logo is easier to imagine on a t-shirt (heh). Seriously, we have some pretty interesting and dynamic content on TVS, and the old site design just didn't do it justice.
Of course, a few naysayers have already chimed in that they hate the design (and we only rolled it out ninety minutes ago). But each and every site redesign in the history of the internet has been greeted with Bronx cheers; eventually, people get used to the new site and end up even liking it, making the old site look more ancient in comparison. So, if you don't like the new TVS, just wait a little while...
Still ironing things out
For the two people who have visited my heretofore unknown blog... thanks for leaving comments. I'll post more when I get some technical issues straightened out. But for now, enjoy these fun and games...
Ah, to be a middle-aged blogger
This is my first entry. Don't know why I'm starting a blog. Maybe to write the stuff my brain belches up while I'm thinking of what to write for actual cash money. But I'll update this site infrequently with not only the aforementioned belches but with my latest writing endeavors, as well.
